What do I do when…

Common Internet issues start with power and signal. Check your Internet service provider’s equipment. Is it on? Try unplugging power from the device for 30 seconds and reconnect. Do the same for you router afterwards. If the problem persists, call Big Tree Networking or your Internet Provider for more assistance.

Try disconnecting power from your wireless access point device and reconnecting power after 30 seconds. Additionally perform this action for your wireless devices having the issue. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, you may have poor signal, wireless interference faulty hardware. Contact Big Tree Networking or your hardware vendor for more support.

Often times wireless coverage has limits due to absorption, signal blocking, or interference. If able, re-position your wireless access point to a centralized area among your wireless client devices. Consider contacting Big Tree Networking to generate a solution with additional wireless coverage or evaluate your wireless environment needs.

Let’s start with your firewall. Does your network have one? Basic routers have limited firewall capabilities. Does the device have Intrusion Protection/Detection (IDS/IPS), offer Virtual Local Networking (VLAN), customized white/black-lists, content filtering, geo-blocking of risky countries?
